Alabama football loses another wide receiver to the transfer portal

Alabama football is losing another wide receiver to the transfer portal. Emmanuel Henderson will enter the portal, his representative A&P Sports Agency announced on Monday.

Henderson spent three years with the Crimson Tide.

“First, I want to thank my family, my coaches and the University of Alabama for the opportunity to play the sport I love,” Henderson said in a statement released by the agency. “I am grateful for the last three years I spent in Alabama and for the experiences, memories and friendships I made.

“After much consideration, I have decided to enter my name in the transfer portal since I still have one year of eligibility remaining.”

Henderson caught four passes for 82 yards for Alabama this season. He also contributed to the kick return game.

The 6-foot-1, 187-pound Geneva County product joined the Crimson Tide in the 2022 class as a running back before moving to wideout upon arriving in Tuscaloosa. He dealt with injuries during the 2023 season and played mostly on special teams.

Alabama’s wide receiver group took several hits during the current transfer portal entry window. Kobe Prentice, Caleb Odom and Kendrick Law are also out.

The student transfer portal closes December 28th. Alabama players have another short window to participate after the final game of the season.

The Crimson Tide will conclude the 2024 campaign with a ReliaQuest Bowl game against Michigan on December 31st. The game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN.
