Alabama football wide receiver intends to enter transfer portal: reports

Alabama football will likely lose a wide receiver in the transfer portal when it opens next week. According to multiple reports, Crimson Tide wideout Kobe Prentice plans to enter the portal.

Matt Zenitz of 247Sports was the first to report the news. Prentice is currently a junior, in his third season with the Tide.

Prentice caught 11 passes for Alabama this season. He scored a touchdown in the South Florida game and finished the game with 129 receiving yards.

Since arriving at Alabama, he has 60 catches, 780 total yards and five touchdowns. He came to the Crimson Tide as a four-star prospect from Calera.

The 5-foot-10, 188-pound Prentice will have to wait several days before he can officially enter the portal. The 20-day admission window for undergraduate programs begins on December 9th.

Prentice is not the first Crimson Tide player to make his way to the transfer portal this season. Defensive back Jahlil Hurley announced his intentions on Tuesday, while linebacker Keanu Koht and defensive lineman Jehiem Oatis announced their plans before the regular season ended with a win over Auburn on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Alabama’s 2024 season isn’t over yet. The Crimson Tide is still searching for a spot in the College Football Playoff and would have been ranked No. 11 in the country in the 12-team field.

There is still a chance that Alabama could be eliminated from the playoffs depending on how the conference championship games play out this weekend. If UA is eliminated from playoff contention, a major portal exodus could begin.
