All boys, no duds from Bills’ decisive AFC East win over the 49ers

Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season will be a memorable one for Bills Mafia and the Buffalo Bills franchise; From playing in the snow to Josh Allen making history with a touchdown pass and a catch in the same game, it was all in full swing for Buffalo as it earned a 35-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers and its fifth AFC win secured back-to-back East Division titles.

The Bills controlled the game on the ground as the snow played a major role, and Buffalo finished the game with 220 rushing yards. The team’s defense stalled San Francisco most of the night and limited the 49ers to just 239 total yards of offense.

Here’s a look at some obvious success factors in the Bills’ win on Sunday night.

Let’s face it: Anyone who throws two touchdowns, rushes for one, and catches a touchdown in the same game is more than a stud. That’s a legendary status of Josh Allen that never fails to amaze fans after his performance at strong Snowfall accumulated 148 passing yards and 18 rushing yards. Even though the yardage isn’t where it normally would be, Allen’s scoring four touchdowns on just three trips to the end zone (and becoming Buffalo’s all-time leading touchdown scorer in the process) still allows him to remain at the top of the NFL MVP discussion.

James Coo

Before Allen’s touchdown pass and catch, James Cook had the best offensive game of the night when he completed a 65-yard touchdown run in the first half to give the Bills a 14-3 lead. Cook had 107 rushing yards and 13 receiving yards with one catch and one touchdown run in the win. With it snowing in Orchard Park, the running game was always going to be a factor, and Cook more than held up his end of the bargain.

Greg Roussea

Greg Rousseau was a frequent guest on this list, as he was the Bills’ best pass rusher all season. On Sunday, Rousseau had four tackles, three tackles for loss, a quarterback hit, a sack and a fumble recovery. The 49ers’ offensive line was unable to contain Rousseau, as even though the 49ers had more possession, Rousseau managed to stop the running game in the second half.

Matt Milan

Bills fans were happy to see their starting linebacker Matt Milano back on the field Sunday night. He finished the game with five tackles, ranking third on the team in that category. It wasn’t his best game, but no one expected him to look like an All-Pro player in his first football game in over a year. Still, it was encouraging to see Milano find its footing heading into the postseason.
