All options for watching and streaming

Some ring in the New Year in the club, others prefer to celebrate on the couch in their pajamas. If you’re celebrating from home, you don’t have to worry about missing out on the entertainment because tonight, December 31st, there are plenty of options for special offers, concerts and parties to say goodbye to 2024 and 2025 greet. Major networks and streamers are hosting New Year’s Eve 2025 specials, some of which will take you straight to Times Square without braving the crowds or cold weather.

Specials include comedian and celebrity appearances as well as musical performances. We’ve even put together a few options for you not I also want to see the ball drop. Read on to find out everything you need to know about how to stream and watch the top New Year’s Eve specials of 2025.

6 p.m. ET on TimesSquareNYC.org

Watch the ball drop for free with Times Square’s free webcast. Jeremy Hassell and Mean Girls Star Jonathan Bennett will host the livestream, which will include the famous ball drop as well as appearances from talent featured on CNN, ABC and Univision specials, including Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers, TLC, Mickey Guyton and Kapo. Another fun aspect of this special? The city’s 400th birthday will be celebrated and numerous interviews will take place with the celebrants gathered in the square.

8:00 p.m. ET on ABC, ABC.go.com and Hulu + Live TV

The most famous special on the list, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, is back for its 53rd consecutive year starting tonight at 8 p.m. ET. Stay entertained until the ball drops with performances from Lenny Kravitz, Laufeny, Teddy Swims, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Alanis Morisette, Carrie Underwood and more. CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen”

8 p.m. ET on CNN and HBO Max

Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper are back for the eighth time to ring in the New Year from Time’s Square. Expect the bubbly best friends to drink a lot of alcohol (Cohen recently promised to drink a tequila shot every hour during the show) and engage in this show, airing live at 8 p.m. ET on CNN and HBO Max entertained by comedians and actors.

Special guests include Shania Twain, 50 Cent, Patti Labelle, Whitney Cummings and Lil John. Additional coverage from around the world begins at 2:45 p.m. ET. NBC’s “A Toast to 2024!” with Hota Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager

Catch TODAY Co-hosted Hoda Kotb’s final New Year’s Eve bash with co-host Jenna Bush Hager. They will look back at notable moments of the year and welcome special guests including Snoop Dogg, Jeff Goldblum, Michael Bublé and Reba McIntire. Watch the special live on NBC and the Peacock app.

If you’re a fan of country music, this is the New Year’s special for you. “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash,” which includes live segments and performances from Nashville and New York, features plenty of performances from some of the country’s biggest names. Guests set to take the stage include Miranda Lambert, Shaboozey, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Post Malone, Luke Bryan and more. Watch live on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

PBS’ “Sarah Bareilles: New Year’s Eve with the National Symphony Orchestra & Friends”

8:00 p.m. ET on PBS and PBS App

If your ideal New Year’s Eve special for 2025 doesn’t include Times Square and looks more like a relaxed evening with soothing music, tune in to PBS. Grammy Award-winning singer and waitress Composer Sara Bareilles takes the stage at the Kennedy Center to perform her hits. Special guests include other talented singers such as Hamilton Tony winner Renée Elise Goldsberry, Rufus Wainwright, Ben Folds and more. Stream live on your local PBS channel or via the PBS app.

8 p.m. ET on TCM

Movies are always a great way to celebrate the holidays. So why not extend the fun to welcome the New Year? The low-key affair features all five Turner Classic Movies hosts – Ben Mankiewicz, Dave Karger, Jacqueline Stewart, Eddie Muller and Alicia Malone – taking viewers through their favorite films, including a New Year’s Eve party scene. The lineup begins with The apartment (1960) and includes trading venues (1983), Bundle of joy (1956), Repeat the performance (1947) and ends with Sunset Blvd (1950). Switch to the TCM channel or watch via YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV or Sling.
