Amanda Bynes recently returned to the public eye, marking her first high-profile appearance in over a decade at an art exhibition in Los Angeles. The former child star’s dramatic transformation shocked fans, with many taking to social media to express their shock and surprise. While some supporters offered words of encouragement and solidarity and acknowledged her ongoing mental health struggles, others couldn’t help but comment on her changing appearance.

Amanda Bynes makes a rare appearance

According to eonline, Amanda co-hosted an art exhibition and fashion pop-up with clothing designer Austin Babbitt in West Hollywood on December 21st.

She even met with some fans at the public event, which was her first in more than a decade.

For the outing, the former Nickelodeon star wore her blonde hair slicked back. She wore a black cropped cardigan with butterfly clasps, black pants and matching boots. Noah Cyrus also attended the event.

The 38-year-old also signed autographs, chatted with fans and took photos, many of whom posted them on their own social media. Amanda, who graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2019, has also collaborated with Austin on apparel featuring her design.

Fans shocked

Amanda, who has kept a low profile in recent years due to her mental health issues, is known for showing off new looks every time she appears in public. Her latest appearance has once again stunned fans as she showed off a dramatically transformed look that sparked a heated reaction on social media.

“There is no way this is AMANDA BYNES WTF,” one user wrote, while another mentioned, “We know what happened to Amanda Bynes. Stop reposting the pictures and asking, you disingenuous guys. Stop exploiting their trauma for clickbait. Shame on every single account that did this.”

“I hate it when people do that about Amanda Bynes. She has a serious mental illness (schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder) and unfortunately this is a normal course of these illnesses. It’s not the drugs, her parents or even the Hollywood madness – it’s the illness,” one person wrote. Another user shared: “That’s Amanda Bynes!!???? What!?? Oh man, so sad.”

One comment said: “My brain can’t comprehend Amanda Bynes’ looks now. How can this happen!!!!”, with another reading: “What happened to Amanda Bynes? Hollywood happened to her and many others who are now lost souls.”

“Can we stop publicly commenting on Amanda Bynes’ performances? How would you feel if someone kept referring to photos from over a decade ago and comparing them to you today? That would be mentally draining, everyone knows what happened, she is doing better,” one user wrote.

Another user pointed out, “Stop talking about what Amanda Bynes is doing; She has a thriving art exhibition and is constantly working on herself!! Stop talking about the past and using photos from 2009 and keep the same energy as the other celebrities.”
