Amazon Prime Premier League games experience sound issues on Boxing Day – Sport

As the Boxing Day games are shown on Amazon Prime today, millions will be tuning in to watch the Premier League.

The tradition of Boxing Day Games goes back over 100 years, with games being played on Christmas Day and Boxing Day as far back as the Victorian era.

This was due to the holiday allowing more fans to attend.

This would create a fixture congestion that would cause Jurgen Klopp to be upset these days, as Liverpool played on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the 27th in 1913ThWon 4-2, lost 1-0, then drew 3-3.

Fast forward to today: while Christmas Day is no longer an option for football, Boxing Day just doesn’t feel the same without the Premier League.

However, this year everyone had the same complaint about the Boxing Day games on Amazon Prime.

One tweeted: “Imagine having the Boxing Day coverage with Jeff Stelling and shit with no sound, well done Prime.”

Another said: “Anyone else reporting on @primevideosport all day with no sound?”

It seems that football is being played all over the country with absolutely no sound.

For anyone who remembers the scary days of Covid-19 football, watching football without crowd noise feels absolutely wrong.

Add to that the lack of commenters, which Amazon supposedly spent a pretty penny on, and it’s less than ideal.

Viewers watching the Boxing Day games were furious, with one fan tweeting: “I just turned Jeff on and there’s no sound! @primevideosport Boxing Day ruined!”

Another said: “Incredible Jeff! Has anyone else lost sound on @primevideosport? I can’t watch football in silence…”

A third angry fan said: “Unless my TV flashes I can’t get any sound from Prime’s all day match coverage… are you @primevideosport?”

A Newcastle fan agreed and said there was no sound either.

Others have even suggested that there are other issues with Prime Video’s coverage of the Premier League, with some hearing a “rhythmic hum” during the broadcast of the Newcastle games.

One fan tweeted: “Anyone hear a rhythmic hum in the @primevideosport Newcastle audio game?”

LADbible has reached out to Prime Video for comment.

More will follow.
