Amid Allu Arjun’s arrest, Telangana Police faces heat, CM asks some questions | Hyderabad News

Police are also facing questions over their handling of the crowd on the night of December 4, when the premiere of “Pushpa 2” at the Sandhya Theater ended in a stampede that left a woman dead and her son in a critical condition.

While the police accused the Sandhya Theater management of not informing them in advance, the management has released a purported copy of a demand letter it had sent to the deputy commissioner of police, Chikkadpally division, informing them about the actor’s visit to participate in the premiere informed search police Bandobas on December 4th.

Sandhya Cine Enterprise 70MM, the owners of the cinema, claimed that they informed the police two days before the premiere and requested a police bandobas. However, according to police officials, the ACP office wrote back to the theater and asked them not to invite Arjun and other actors as it would lead to a law and order situation.

“Allu Arjun also held a short roadshow near the theater for which no permission was given,” an official claimed.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshansh Yadav said in an earlier statement that there was no intimation from the theater management or the cast of actors that they would be visiting. “The theater management did not take any additional security measures to keep the audience under control and there was no separate entrance or exit for the acting team,” he said.

Police also accused the actor’s security personnel of pushing people, which aggravated the situation as there was already a large gathering of people at the theater.

Based on the letters exchanged between the management of Sandhya Theater and ACP (Chikkdapally), it was stated that the Nampally court sentenced Arjun to 14 days judicial remand while the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail granted for four weeks.

Both courts requested more information about what happened between the theater management and the police and asked both parties to produce documents.
