An angry plane passenger once mistook Pamela Anderson for a member of the Chicks

Pamela Anderson is still confused when a plane passenger thought she was a member of the Chicks.

While Anderson, 57, appeared on the Monday, January 6, episode Happy, sad, confused Podcast to promote her film The Last Showgirl Speaking to director Gia Coppola, the actress shared that a man once angrily confronted her on a flight and had to be restrained for the Texas-based country band because of his nastiness.

“Once I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, ‘Do you know what this country has done for you?’ And I thought, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?’ Anderson said when host Josh Horowitz asked her if she had ever been mistaken for another celebrity.

“I looked back and he said ‘Grrr’ and I said ‘Oh my God,'” she added. “And then this stewardess had to handcuff him to the chair because he tried to attack me. He ended up thinking I was a Dixie Chick.”

Anderson’s revelation drew laughter from Horowitz, Coppola and the live audience Happy, sad, confusedwhich was recorded at New York’s 92NY. “Remember the whole Dixie Chick thing? Yes. I almost died on a plane,” she said.

The Chicks, known as The Dixie Chicks from 1989 to 2020, faced intense public backlash in the 2000s for their performance during a concert on March 10, 2003 in London, days before the invasion by U.S. and allied forces. expressed their disapproval of the US war in Iraq. During that concert, singer Natalie Maines stated that the group was “ashamed” that then-President George W. Bush “is from Texas.”

“To be fair, this is only the 400th weirdest thing that’s happened in your life,” podcast host Horowitz told Anderson after telling the anecdote. “Yes, that is insignificant. I was a little scared to fly after that, but you know.”

The Last Showgirl follows Anderson as Shelly, a veteran Las Vegas showgirl whose future becomes uncertain when her show abruptly ends after 30 years. She stars in the film alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Billie Lourd, Kiernan Shipka and Brenda Song.
