Andrew Garfield explains why Too Hot to Handle is “very beautiful.”

Calling all reality TV junkies: Andrew Garfield is ready to join your ranks.

The We live in time The actor has revealed his favorite reality show ‘Guilty Pleasure’ and is sharing it with the world. In a new interview, Garfield not only confessed his love for Netflix Too hot to touchbut also argued why everyone should watch the British dating show.

“F—, it’s really good,” Garfield said W. “It’s like a bunch of hot people who think they’re doing something Love Island–Show type. In the first few interviews they all say, “Yeah, I can’t wait to get insulted like every day,” and then the guys say, “Yeah, I can’t wait to insult women every day.” They’re easy just horny, hot people – but wait, here’s where the twist happens.”

Garfield continued, “So they come to the island and say, ‘Woo!’ in their swimsuits… and then a day goes by where they’re having a party, maybe a couple is making out, maybe there’s a little fellatio, it’s up to them. And then they realize that they are actually there Too hot to touch.”

So what is at stake if you find yourself on it? Too hot to touch instead of a classic Paradise Island dating show? As Garfield said, “There’s a prize pot full of money and you only win it if you don’t fuck each other.”

But wait, it gets even stranger.

“The competition is run by an Alexa robot, and she tells them, ‘You’ve all been chosen because you’re afraid of intimacy. You’re going to be here for a week and anything you do physically together is not that.’ “If you’re born out of a real emotional connection, you’ll be fined and your prize pot will keep going down,” the actor explained, making a replica of the series’ robot, Lana. “And then, suddenly, all these really horny, maybe sex-addicted people aren’t allowed to jerk off or do anything sexual unless Lana the robot gives them permission.”

When the group of singles, usually self-proclaimed commitment-phobes, actually socialize and experience moments of true intimacy, Lana allows them to become physically intimate without taking a hit to their bottom lines.

As Garfield explained, “The robot tells them, ‘You’re building a good emotional connection. You have five minutes to give each other tongues.’”

As crass as that may sound, Garfield argued that it was actually an “amazing thing” to witness. “You see these people starting to reveal their traumas and suddenly they soften and are vulnerable and terribly afraid of it and everyone around them is very encouraging,” he said. “It’s a very beautiful thing.”

Since its premiere in April 2020, Netflix has aired six seasons of the dating show. A handful of couples who met on the series have stayed together, including Season 2’s Emily Miller and Cam Holmes, who welcomed their first child together in June 2024.
