Andy Reid makes surprising revelation about key role in Chiefs’ Black Friday win

The Kansas City Chiefs are 11-1 after 13 weeks of football. On Black Friday against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Chiefs came away with a 19-17 win. They have now secured a spot in the playoffs and are fighting to secure the No. 1 spot in the AFC.

Although this win was closer than the Chiefs wanted, they will approach it any way they can. Kansas City has won 14 straight games by one point since last season.

This is proof that this group is battle tested and has an excellent coaching staff. Following this tremor, head coach Andy Reid discussed a crucial play at the end of the fourth quarter.

When Reid spoke to team reporters after the win, he said he thought about going for it on fourth-and-2 with 2:03 left in the fourth quarter at the Raiders’ 44-yard line. They ended up hitting the ball and forcing the Raiders to drive down the field as they tried to get the win.

Ultimately, that was the right decision, as quarterback Aidan O’Connell fumbled the ball after Jackson Powers-Johnson snatched it early at the Kansas City 32-yard line.

If the Chiefs had chosen to do that and failed to convert the first down, it would have given Las Vegas a tight field and potentially cost them the game.

While the Raiders were still able to move the ball and gained 54 yards on the final drive, it didn’t matter as the Chiefs came away with the win. Kansas City has won its last two games by a combined five points and will have a few extra days of rest to prepare for its AFC West showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14 on Sunday Night Football.
