Another cold night before temperatures rise dramatically

Temperatures will drop again tonight, but things will start to get warmer on Friday. Highs for southern Minnesota this weekend will be in the 40s. Light snowfall is possible in the north.

Warmer air will move in for the weekend

We’ll have another cold night on Thursday with temperatures mostly falling into the single digits. In the Twin Cities we’ll drop into the low teens with partly cloudy skies.

As warmer air moves into the region, combined with some upper level disturbances, snow showers will occur across most of northeastern Minnesota late Thursday night into Friday morning and again Saturday. There could be a wintry mix of snow showers and light freezing rain, with the second batch of moisture arriving Friday night into Saturday.
