Archie Manning names the NFL team he wants Grandson Arch to play for after his career in Texas

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning has three years of NCAA eligibility left, but his grandfather already has his sights set on his NFL future.

Archie Manning, not only Arch’s grandfather but also the father of Peyton, Eli and Arch’s father Cooper, was recently asked by a fan where he would like to see his grandson play in the NFL.

“I hope he plays in Texas (the next) three years…” the 75-year-old replied in a video posted on social media before revealing his answer. “It’s funny, no one has ever asked me that before. If someone asked me, I would immediately say cowboys.”

Well boy, wouldn’t that be something?

Archie, who has had a 14-year NFL career himself, has certainly shown how to get what he wants in situations like this. In 2004, he was the driving force behind his son Eli being traded to the Giants after he was drafted by the Chargers because they didn’t want him to play in San Diego.

We’ll have to wait and see what Arch’s football future ultimately holds. Currently? He and the Texas Longhorns are preparing for the SEC Championship on Saturday in Atlanta. They face the Georgia Bulldogs at 4:00 pm EST.
