Ariana Grande arrives at the Golden Globes with dyed hair and an Emma Stone pixie cut

Ariana Grande’s signature high pony hit the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday with a completely different hue.

The pop star, who was nominated for her portrayal of the good witch Galinda in Wicked, ditched her bleached hair for a honey brown look. The dye process is reminiscent of her pre-Wicked look and represents a departure from the press tour aesthetic, which became a story in its own right.

In a pale yellow 1960s Givenchy dress paired with long white gloves and Swarovski crystals, Grande’s look gave off strong Princess Belle vibes, while her co-star Cynthia Erivo opted for a similarly dazzling black and white look.

It’s unclear whether Grande’s new hair color will last.

Galinda’s icy blonde will have to return (at least to the big screen) at some point when Erivo and Grande reunite for the second part of the movie musical, set to premiere in November.

“Wicked” is nominated for several awards at the Globes, including best musical or comedy. USA TODAY film critic Brian Truitt lists “Wicked” as the favorite in the category, but argues that “The Substance,” a dark comedy starring Demi Moore, should win instead.

“You don’t expect this kind of recognition,” Grande told E! her nomination for best supporting actress. For her role in “Emilia Pérez” she is competing against singer and actress Selena Gomez.

Emma Stone’s elf caused a stir at the Golden Globes

Emma Stone also hit the red carpet with a new hairstyle, wearing a light brown pixie cut.

The dramatic cut was paired with a bright red belted dress. The Poor Things actress, known for her auburn locks, has already changed her look for roles.

Stone isn’t nominated herself tonight and is attending the awards show to support her “Kinds of Kindness” co-star Jesse Plemons, who was nominated for his role in the film.

Plemons is nominated for best actor, an award he already secured at Cannes this season.
