Ariana Grande was collecting Glinda-style clothing long before she landed the role Evil.

Ariana shared People that she had “a little part of my wardrobe that was just little pink tops and stuff, just in case” she got her dream role as Glinda.

“I asked myself, ‘What underwear would Glinda wear today?’ ” joked the Side to Side hitmaker.

She was open about her hard work to get the role, saying: “I had been chasing (producer) Marc Platt for about ten years, wondering when this film would happen and when I would get the opportunity to audition .”

“When I heard they might start meeting people in a few months, I thought, ‘Great! Now it’s time to start,'” she confessed.

She also shared that in her first audition she sang both Glinda’s and Elphaba’s songs including Popular, No One Mourns the Wicked, Defies Gravity And The magician and me.

She shared: “Weirdly enough, I sang for both of them (Glinda and Elphaba). I don’t know why – I think we all kind of knew why I did it, and it was for Glinda. I love Elphaba, but you.”

Director Jon M. Chu also joined the discussion and admitted that he had doubts about casting Ariana, as the singer had long said in interviews that she wanted to play Glinda, and that could have lasted the entire film.

He said: “In my head I was like, ‘We’ll never give this to Ariana Grande.’ That’s what’s going to dominate the movie – (it’s going to be) about Ariana Grande.’ “

“Every time she came in, she was an Ari I had never seen before. And every time she left, she was the most interesting person,” he added.
