Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings: Key information and first quarter discussion

We are just 30 minutes away from kickoff in Minneapolis as the Minnesota Vikings host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 13 of this 2024 NFL season. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for today’s competition.

Date and time: Sunday, December 1, 2024, noon Central Time

Location: US Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota

TV reporting: KMSP-9 in the Twin Cities, FOX affiliates nationwide, YouTube TV NFL Sunday Ticket

Radio reporting: Vikings Radio NetworkSiriusXM channel 230 (Vikings feed), SiriusXM app channel 820

line: Vikings -3.5, Over/Under 44.5

Chris’ prediction: Vikings 27, Cardinals 20

Three keys

1) Keep Kyler Murray in check – Murray had a very good year for the Cardinals and he is at his best when he is able to extend plays and find his playmakers. The Vikings had some success in that regard against Caleb Williams last week, but they need to be even better against Murray. The Vikings have been solid against mobile quarterbacks and that trend must continue today.

2) Continue taking what you are given – Last week, Justin Jefferson had one of the worst statistical games of his career, catching just two passes. That attention allowed Jordan Addison, TJ Hockenson and Aaron Jones to have big games. Jefferson will always get a ton of attention, and if he’s not always available, Sam Darnold will have to distribute the ball to others like he did in Chicago.

3) Bring the last week into rear view – The Vikings almost blew last week’s game in Chicago, but that’s just another way of saying they won. They need to keep their focus and get the job done this week to keep up with Detroit and stay ahead of Green Bay in the NFC North, and Kevin O’Connell should be able to make that happen.

That should be all you need to be prepared, ladies and gentlemen. As always, we have a new open thread at the beginning of each quarter. So keep your eyes open and continue the discussion accordingly.

We hope in about three hours we can all get together and talk about how great it is to be one of the few teams in the NFL with double-digit wins at this point in the season.

SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
