Iowa State has played against some of the best running backs in the country.

Texas Tech’s Tahj Brooks, UCF’s RJ Harvey, Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson and Kansas State’s DJ Giddens all reached over 1,000 yards this season. The Cyclones played them all.

But the toughest test is yet to come. Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo is between ISU and a Big 12 championship.

Skatebo has shredded defenses this year, recording 1,400 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns this season.

But he is also a very capable pass catcher and good in space.

Skattebo runs hard. The Cyclones have their hands full and Matt Campbell offered an interesting comparison.

Iowa State’s defense has been shaky against the run most of the season, but has shown improvement in the last two games.

Limiting Skattebo will be a key task if the Cyclones want to leave Texas with a Big 12 title.
