Army Navy Game: Score, Live Updates, How to Watch

When looking to define a rivalry, the Army and Navy fit the description exactly. The timeless rivalry has produced contests, defeats and ongoing winning streaks dating back to 1890.

This year’s season finale marks the 125th meeting between the two, with Navy leading the series 62-55-7, helped by a 14-game winning streak in the 2000s.

HISTORY: Final results for each Army-Navy game

Since there were only 13 points between the last three games, here is a look back at the last two encounters, which were decided at the last minute.

  • Dec 9, 2023: Army 17, Navy 11

Trailing 17-9 with less than 22 seconds left in the contest, Navy needed just six yards and a successful two-point conversion to send the rivalry game into overtime for the second straight year.

Because they are positioned first and goal at the Black Knights’ 6-yard line, the chances for a team’s defense to create a goal line in such conditions are slim.

But Army did just that, preventing the Midshipmen from scoring on three straight downs at the 6-yard line and on fourth down at the 2-yard line.

  • Dec 10, 2022: Army 20, Navy 17 (2OT)

The matchup between Army and Navy was the first overtime game in series history and lived up to that historic achievement.

The game was a slugfest with 18 punts and took on a new form in the first overtime. Both teams scored on the first play of their possession, forcing a second overtime period. The Midshipmen slowed things down with six consecutive plays in the second overtime, but still found themselves on the doorstep of the end zone — the 3-yard line on third-and-goal.

Then things got crazy.

As running back Anton Hall Jr. tried to jump into the end zone, Army defensive lineman Austin Hill knocked out the football while defensive lineman Darius Richardson recovered it.

The fumble set up the Black Knights and kicker Quinn Maretzki for a game-winning 39-yard field goal that gave Army its second straight victory over Navy.
