preamble

There is no need to be overly dramatic. Title-chasing Arsenal are nine points behind current leaders Liverpool, but both teams still have 21 games left, meaning no one is on the winner’s podium yet. However, Mikel Arteta’s side won’t feel too good if they don’t take all three points tonight after claiming a 5-1 win at Crystal Palace and playing against a team that was just beaten 4-0 Home against Newcastle. Arsenal – who are unbeaten at home this season – are 7-1 further tonight, while you can reach Ipswich – who haven’t won this game since 1979, the days of Arnold Muhren, Mick Mills and Bobby Robson – at 20. So this looks like a looker. Then again, you never know in the Premier League and Ipswich may be in fast-and-lose mode, treating this game as a free kick in their bid to climb out of relegation danger. We’ll find out soon enough. Kick-off is at 20:15 GMT. It’s on!
