Artist lineup, Roo residency, new 365-degree sound experience and more

Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival Director Brad Parker discusses the 2025 event: artist lineup, Roo Residency, new 365-degree sound experience and more

ustafson, about the innovations of the annual summer meeting.

Today’s information broadcast not only includes a list of top acts from various genres and musical backgrounds, but also new features and changes to the boots-on-the-ground experience, such as the Roo Residency, Infinity Stage and more, permeated as themes are topics of discussion in the subsequent interview.

“We work with a UK-based company called Polygon Production. They have (created) a 3D spatial audio system. You’ll see the words spatial audio, 360 degree audio, and 3D audio kind of being thrown around, and I want to point out something really important: a lot of people have said that this is a 360 degree stage, where you are There is a stage with an artist in the middle, and the crowd forms a circle around the stage. That’s not it; it’s much cooler.

“This is an artist on a traditional stage, but you are experiencing audio in a fully spatial, immersive environment. At any traditional music venue, when you go to a festival, you look at the artist in front of you and hear all the sound coming at you from the stage in front of you. These are sounds coming at you from all directions at once.”

Parker points out that this will be the system’s North American debut: “It’s been done in Saudi Arabia and Thailand and now it’s going to be in North America for the first time at Bonnaroo in June, which is super exciting.” Scroll to find out below to view Polygon Productions’ explanation of 3D sound.

The festival director also noted that Bonnaroo will unveil the artist lineup planned for the Infinity Stage in the coming months. He was also quick to point out that none of the artists included in today’s announcement will be repeats and that the Infinity Stage roster will represent new additions to the festival lineup. “This will be a whole new roster of artists and programs,” he explained, discussing the experimental nature of the space, which goes beyond music to include sound baths as a way to relax.

In addition to the new, technologically advanced listening experience, Bonnaroo will host a three-day Roo Residency focused on live performances from Australian favorites King Gizzard & the Wizard Lizard, who performed at Relix’s cover in March 2023, following their event debut which took place the year before in 2022.

“They were a huge success (in 2022) and we were toying around with the idea of doing an artist residency and they just felt like the perfect fit for it.” And they were thrilled when we offered their team the opportunity. So they’re going to give us three different shows on three different stages and on three different days.”

As an additional talking point, Parker explained Bonnaroo’s ticket prices for this year’s event. He explained: “As you know, ticket prices are a hot topic around the world and fans have more options than ever before and are definitely feeling the financial constraints in the current economy.” Festival landscape in general to be really competitive. And secondly: give fans the chance to buy the cheapest ticket so that the situation doesn’t change after five minutes of ticket sales. That’s why we’re increasing the guaranteed price for one hour. That’s $420. Yes, that’s intentional and actually cheaper than last year. While other festivals raise prices, we are fighting to make ours cheaper.”

When discussing the artist lineup, explained below, Parker explained the significance of Luke Combs’ headlining performance on Thursday, June 12, mentioning the rise and appreciation of country music and the mass fan base of “Hurricane.” -Singer who continuously fills a stadium arena.

“The reason we felt it was important to add country to Bonaroo’s lineup is because the name Bonnaroo means ‘best on the road’ and we’ve always been an all-encompassing festival and country is the biggest thing “There’s never been, right now – it’s on a world stage – and if we don’t include it, we’re not doing our job,” Parker added. “We’re really looking forward to starting the weekend off with a little boat scooter boogie on Thursday evening.”

In addition to Combs’ performances, other artists will also be there on the first day Relix Cover artist Marcus King and reader favorites like Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, Kitchen Dwellers and Dogs In A Pile. Beyond the Improv Favorites., John Summit, Glass Animals, Tipper, The Red Clay Strays, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Megadeth, Wallows, Foster the People, Slightly Stoopid, Flipturn, Of the Trees, JPEGMAFIA, Marina, Tape B, MJ Lenderman, BossMan Dlow, INZO, Levity, Mannequin Pussy, Leon Thomas, Cults, Aly & AJ, Matt Champion, Detox Unit, Rachel Chinouriri, Eater, Ginger Root, Bebe Stockwell and Effin make up the musical performers on the second day.
