At the start of the winter solstice, the Philadelphia region is windy and much colder. Here is the forecast.

A little taste of winter comes through on this last Friday and day of fall. Winter begins overnight at 4:21 am

After light amounts of snow (a layer or dusting in the city, 1-3 inches for Lehigh and the higher elevations with some spots closer to 4 inches), we clean up and dry out with some of the coldest temperatures on record!

The sun will break out early Saturday, but it will be stormy and very cold. The morning will be near freezing, with wind chills in the teens and 20s. As northwest winds increase in the afternoon, lake effect snow bands may form extending as far east as the Poconos and Lehigh Valleys.
