Aubrey Plaza has been selected to present at the 2025 Golden Globes

Aubrey Plaza was announced as a presenter at the 2025 Golden Globes shortly before the death of her husband, writer and director Jeff Baena, on Friday.

The 40-year-old actress was scheduled to take the stage during Sunday’s show alongside Glenn Close, Demi Moore, Nicolas Cage and more.

Plaza’s presence at the 82nd annual awards ceremony is now considered highly unlikely, the Daily Mail reported.

The millennial icon, who rose to stardom on the sitcom “Parks and Recreation,” received her first Golden Globe nomination in 2023 for her work in “White Lotus.”

Plaza has not yet publicly commented on the sudden and tragic loss. Representatives have not yet responded to requests for comment from The Post.

The couple began dating in 2011 and married in 2021. Baena was spotted at his Los Angeles home by an assistant on Friday morning.

The director was pronounced dead at the scene and police reportedly said he died by suicide, The Post previously reported.

Although Plaza is known as a private person, she has occasionally spoken fondly about her late husband on social media.

In May 2021, Plaza referred to Baena as her “dear husband” in an Instagram post.

“So proud of my darling husband @jeffbaena for dreaming up another movie that takes us to Italy to cause more trouble,” the caption read.

Their wedding is said to have been a spontaneous event.

“Marriage was like a joke that honestly went too far,” Plaza joked during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in 2021. “We got married on a whim. I literally decided around 5pm and got married at 8:30pm.”

Describing the impromptu event in detail, she continued, “Jeff got really into tie-dye during quarantine, so I decided we would wear tie-dye pajamas that Jeff made for us…” I had my little rosemary crown and one Love altar in the backyard of all our love objects. It was very witchy, but it happened.”

The pair worked together on two films, “Life After Beth” and “The Little Hours.”

“It’s so great, it’s so complicated,” Plaza told Barrymore about working with her spouse. “It’s extreme heights and extreme complications. It’s really difficult to get along, but we’ve been together for 11 years. We just fight through it.”
