Avelo launches ILG bookings for summer 2025 | The latest from WDEL News

The airline, which brought passenger service back to Wilmington Airport early last year, says travelers can start planning for summer 2025.

As the second holiday season begins with flights from ILG, Avelo Airlines is extending its flight schedule until next Labor Day. 13 destinations continue to be served directly. Several of them are in Florida. The two Wilmington aircraft also serve Atlanta, Charlotte-Concord, Myrtle Beach SC, Wilmington NC and San Juan PR.

According to Courtney Goff of Avelo, its offerings are based primarily on data.

“We look at where people go. We look at where people have potential second homes, where there are a lot of connections between this region in the Delaware Valley – all four states that touch this area – and we look at where people want to go and go where the traffic is requires,” Goff said.

Avelo has begun operating a second aircraft to Wilmington.

“We’re not like some of the other airlines that have hundreds of aircraft in their fleet,” Goff added. “We really look at all the metrics and work with our community partners here at ILG and the DRBA (Delaware River and Bay Authority) to figure out what makes sense and how we can best serve the community.”

These are the goals that Avelo achieves from Wilmington:

  • Atlanta (ATL)
  • Charlotte / Concord, NC (USA)
  • Daytona Beach, Florida (DAB)
  • Fort Lauderdale, Florida (FLL)
  • Fort Myers, Fla. (RSW)
  • Myrtle Beach, SC (MYR)
  • Orlando / Lakeland, Florida (LAL)
  • Orlando, Florida (MCO)
  • San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU)
  • Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida (SRQ)
  • Tampa, Florida (TPA)
  • West Palm Beach, Florida (PBI)
  • Wilmington, North Carolina (ILM)

“Avelo offers something for everyone – from award-winning beaches to outdoor adventure destinations, cultural and entertainment hotspots and more,” said Trevor Yealy, Head of Commercial at Avelo.
