“Baby Driver” actor dies at age 16 after falling from moving vehicle

VESTAVIA HILLS, Alabama – Actor Hudson Meek, a child star best known for his role in “Baby Driver,” has died. He was 16.

Meek died on December 21, two days after he was critically injured in a fall from a moving vehicle in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, AL.com reports.

According to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Bill Yates, the accident occurred around 10:47 p.m. on Dec. 19 when Meek suffered blunt force injuries. He was taken to the University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham and pronounced dead on December 21.

“It breaks our hearts to inform you that Hudson Meek has gone home to be with Jesus tonight,” read a Dec. 22 post on Meek’s Instagram account. “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significant things that influenced everyone he met.”

According to the Instagram post, there will be a celebration of life for Meek on December 28th. According to AL.com, Vestavia Hills police are investigating Meek’s death.

Meek’s first on-screen acting role was in the 2014 television film The Santa Con, where he starred alongside his older brother Tucker. Three years later, Meek played the role of Young Baby in Edgar Wright’s 2017 heist film Baby Driver. He also appeared in 52 episodes of Badanamu Cadets and Badanamu Stories, MacGyver, Found and The School Duel”.
