“Baby Reindeer” wins best limited series

Baby reindeer won best limited series at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday night.

“It’s crazy to see you all here, this is crazy. The stone is there. That’s crazy. I can’t believe it. “Honestly, I grew up with you, man, this is crazy!” said Gadd, the series’ creator, star, writer and executive producer, while addressing the crowd.

“The way you guys have embraced this show is incredible. To me, to us, it means the absolute world,” Gadd continued. “By the way, we are so grateful to Netflix for this story. For giving me the chance to tell the world this messed up story.”

Gadd plays himself in the limited series, which is based on his real-life experiences as a victim of stalking.

“I think right now, with the world in the state it is in and people really struggling, we need stories that express the complicated and difficult nature of our times,” Gadd said, adding: “Commissioner Streamer: When you’re crunching the numbers and putting together the budgets for this year, remember to save some of it for the little person so they can tell their story.”

Since the show was released on Netflix in April 2024, Baby reindeer has received numerous awards. Gadd won three Emmy Awards for the series and accepted the award for groundbreaking limited series at the 2024 Gotham TV Awards.

In August 2024, Gadd spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about working on his first big project: “What was challenging?” Baby reindeer were the scenes, the intensity of it all, the re-enactments, the stressful days, the days of filming, the all-consuming process and the difficulty of revisiting this period of my life. Any production is a very difficult thing. It’s hard to deal with, but I felt very ready for it when the time came.”

He further explained that he is looking forward to creating distance from this chapter of his life with his next project.

“I’m very grateful and aware that it’s pretty rare to get everyone’s attention at once, like it seemed to be with the show,” he said. “It was just so intense. Something can be wonderful, but you also need a little break from it. I think maybe that’s where I’m at.”

Baby reindeer knock out Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez, The penguin, Disclaimer, Ripley And True Detective: Night Country.

The actor is expected to star in the upcoming HBO-BBC series Half man, alongside Jamie Bell. Filming will take place in Scotland this year.

Golden Globes producer Dick Clark Productions is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge, which also includes Penske Media Eldridge The Hollywood Reporter. See all the stars who walked the red carpet here.
