Bahrain holds talks with Iran to restore diplomatic ties | THE DAILY TRIBUNE

The Foreign Ministry has informed Parliament that Bahrain is actively working to restore diplomatic relations with Iran and is working on the necessary legal framework for this.

The ministry added that recent exchanges between officials from both sides helped lay the foundation for talks to rebuild relations.

In response to a question from MP Mamdouh Abbas Al Saleh, the ministry explained Bahrain’s balanced foreign policy approach, which focuses on protecting its sovereignty and independence, promoting its interests and enhancing its standing in the region and beyond.

It reiterated that Bahrain adheres to the principles of good neighborly relations, respect for the internal affairs of other countries and the promotion of dialogue and mutual understanding.

The ministry stated that these efforts will be led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and closely monitored by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

It was emphasized that rebuilding relations with Iran depends on adherence to fundamental international principles that are essential to ensuring stability and prosperity in the region.
