Bengals recover. Steelers fumble on punt return

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Cincinnati Bengals round out the regular season on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bengals, 10 | Steelers, 7

After the Cincinnati offense was halted on downs, the Bengals got the ball back when linebacker Shaka Heyward knocked the ball away from Steelers receiver Calvin Austin III on a punt return. Bengals linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither then recovered the fumbled ball.

The Steelers scored their first points of the game on a 1-yard rush by running back Najee Harris. The Pittsburgh touchdown was aided by two costly pass interference calls from Bengals corner Cam Taylor-Britt.

Joe Burrow found Ja’Marr Chase in the end zone on Cincinnati’s opening drive against the Steelers. Chase’s 12-yard touchdown pass – the 17th of the season for the duo – came after a fluid drive for Cincinnati, including a catch by tight end Mike Gesicki that triggered his 600-yard, $125,000 contract incentive.

The Bengals will be without breakout running back Chase Brown, who injured his ankle in last week’s win over the Broncos.

Cincinnati also still clings to a glimmer of hope for a playoff spot. The Bengals must beat the Steelers (10-6) and both the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos must lose on Sunday.
