Bengals vs. Titans live blog, updates and game recap for NFL Week 15

The Cincinnati Bengals will look to keep their playoff hopes alive against the Tennessee Titans in Music City.

After last week’s thrilling win in Dallas, the Bengals are still in the hunt for the postseason, but only if they win. One more slip-up and the playoffs are officially over.

Standing in the way today is former offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, now head coach of the Titans. He also has former Bengals Tyler Boyd and Chidobe Awuzie with him, so it will be a reunion in Nashville for both teams.

Things will be a little tricky for the Bengals at left tackle, with Orlando Brown Jr. (fibula) and Cody Ford (illness) both out and Devin Cochran likely making his first start.

As always, this will be today’s live blog, which we will update as the game progresses and will serve as a full recap once the game is complete.

Who DEY!

First quarter

The Bengals lost the coin toss and after the Titans deferred, Joe Burrow and the offense entered the field to start the game and immediately passed the ball directly to the Titans. After a false start on the first play and a short pass to Mike Gesicki, Burrow threw an errant pass over the middle intended for Andrei Iosivas but was intercepted by the Titans, who took over at the 29-yard line.

Will Levis and the Titans came into the game with great field position and simply ran the ball down the Bengals’ throats, scoring the game’s first touchdown on a carry by Tony Pollard.

Things didn’t go well for Cincinnati at all.

With one touchdown already under their belt, Burrow and the offense went back to work. Burrow was able to find Gesicki and Chase to get into the red zone. A few plays later, Burrow escaped some pressure in the backfield and was able to buy himself enough time to find Chase Brown in the end zone, who was able to tie the score at seven after a point from Cade York.

The Bengals defense came back onto the field, this time with a lot of green between the Titans and the end zone. Unfortunately, Levis managed to find Tyler Boyd on a third-and-long play for a first down, and then the Titans were further aided by a terrible defensive pass interference call that put them on the goal line, Tyjae Spears breaking the plane a pair plays later to give the Titans a 14-7 lead after the extra point.

Burrow and the offense returned to the field and fell behind again by a touchdown. Burrow managed to connect with Gesicki again, and then Brown managed to get the ball into Titans territory as time expired in the first quarter.
