Best and worst PFF grades from the Panthers’ Week 13 loss to the Buccaneers

The Carolina Panthers missed several opportunities in Sunday’s painful overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So who missed (and achieved) their goal on the play, according to Pro Football Focus?

Here are the best and worst grades from the 26:23 defeat:

The best of the offense

1. LG Damien Lewis: 90.02. QB Bryce Young: 79.23. WR Adam Thielen: 72.54. LT Ikem Ekwonu: 71.65. RB Jonathan Brooks: 69.5

Lewis’ overall offensive grade of 90.0 is his highest as a Panther, as are his pass blocking (86.5) and run blocking (91.9) grades. He allowed no pressure in 50 passing opportunities.

Young’s 79.2 was his third-highest offensive grade in a start. He recorded a season-high 298 passing yards, a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown.

14. WR Deven Thompson: 54,615. TE Stephen Sullivan: 53,616. TE Feleipe Franks: 51,417. WR David Moore: 49,718. RB Chuba Hubbard: 47.6

Hubbard’s fumble at Tampa Bay’s 30-yard line in overtime helped the Bucs win. He rushed for just 43 yards, his fewest since Week 1.

Moore was charged with two drops after a standout performance in Week 12.

1. CB Chau Smith-Wade: 89.72. OLB DJ Johnson: 78.63. OLB Amare Barno: 74.74. CB Jaycee Horn: 69.05. S Xavier Woods: 66.1

Smith-Wade made the first interception of his NFL career. He also posted a career-best grade in coverage (90.6), where he allowed a passer rating of 34.7.

Johnson posted a team-high 79.9 grade against the run. He managed three stops.

The worst defense

13. DL Jonathan Harris: 51,414. DL LaBryan Ray: 48,615. CB Mike Jackson: 45,216. OLB DJ Wonnum: 43,717. ILB Josey Jewell: 40.3

Jewell, Wonnum and Jackson each had two missed tackles.
