Presumably because Elden Ring for PS5 is still widely available two years later, it doesn’t see very many sales, and when it does, sales don’t tend to drop too dramatically. As such, Amazon’s current offer of AU$59 for the base version of the game – excluding Shadow of the Erdtree – could be extremely tempting if you’re yet to dive into FromSoftware’s modern RPG classic.

To be clear, this isn’t an all-time low, but it’s close: earlier this week it was at AU$57.79, which is only marginally cheaper.

Rise of the Ronin

Rise of the Ronin came out back in March and while it’s missing from most GOTY lists, it’s an excellent action game from the studio behind Nioh and Ninja Gaiden. If you can imagine the Japan-set Assassin’s Creed you’ve always dreamed of, with beautifully fluid team ninja-samurai combat, then Rise of the Ronin is basically just that. Amazon is currently selling it for AU$69, less than the RRP of AU$124.95 (although the realistic price is generally closer to AU$80). If you’re looking for a relatively breezy action game with a beautiful open world and a surprisingly byzantine plot, I really can’t recommend it enough. It’s not GOTY material, but it’s incredibly fun.

God of War Ragnarok

Just a quick update with some great PS5 and PS4 game discounts that don’t really deserve their own post But might pique your interest if you haven’t played them yet. God of War Ragnarok is currently on sale on Amazon for a generous AU$49, which is actually the store’s lowest price ever.

Also noteworthy LEGO Horizon Adventures It’s priced at AU$68 (was AU$109.95), which is a reasonable price for a game that only released at the end of October. I would never pay RRP for this game, which is so good, but at AU$68 it’s a nice relaxing co-op game for the holidays.

Also consider:

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for AU$64 (was AU$109.95)

Amazon’s killer deal Western Digital SN80X 2TB NVMe The drive with heatsink was temporarily sold out, but appears to be back in stock for now.

This is a big deal: Amazon is outsourcing the whole lot right now 2TB WD Black SN850X NVMe drive for AU$202.28, which is cheaper than some retailers sell the 1TB model.

It is equipped with a heatsink and is definitely compatible with the PS5. After all, it’s on our list of the best PS5 SSDs.

Shipping takes place via Amazon Germany, but there are no shipping costs. I would highly recommend you access this if you need more storage space on the PS5 (and let’s face it: everyone needs that).

Sony DualSense controller on wooden table

The DualSense controller doesn’t get many discounts these days: not even Black Friday offered significant discounts on the AU$119.95 controller. The rarity of deals for the PS5’s premium gamepad is a bit of a problem, as these things are very susceptible to stick drift and trigger button wear (I had to upgrade mine every year). All in all, it’s worth spending AU$84 on a new DualSense from Amazon, even if you don’t need one right now. This price is only available on certain models, including the Galactic Purple Affair, the Nova Pink and the Starlight Blue. The Sterling Silver model carries a AU$85 premium, while the DualSense Edge is currently available for AU$300: AU$39.95 cheaper than usual.
