Big Island police search for three Hale-Nani fugitives | News

Three refugees from Hale Nani are wanted after they escaped this afternoon and police are now searching for them.



HAWAII ISLAND COUNTY, Hawaii (Island News) – Big Island police are searching for three fugitives from Hale Nani.

The wanted fugitives include Clyde Loa, Kawai Pomroy and Joseph C. Fernandez, all of whom were last seen Friday afternoon at 4:27 p.m

Loa is 31 years old, 1.75 meters tall and weighs 100 kilograms. Pomroy is 41 years old, 6 feet tall and weighs 260 pounds. Fernandez is 35 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 195 pounds.

They were last seen leaving the facility in a gray 2014 Nissan Altima with Hawaiian license plate ZCK261. It is not known which direction they were moving at the time of the escape. The stolen car belongs to an employee of a civilian institution.

Police remain on scene during this ongoing investigation. How the occupants got hold of the vehicle keys and escaped is also the subject of the investigation.

Loa was in custody on multiple counts of carjacking and resisting an order to stop a motor vehicle. Pomroy was incarcerated for abuse of a household or family member. Fernandez was in custody for parole revocation for a firearms violation.
