Bill Maher threatens to “quit” his HBO show over Trump’s win.

Bill Maher “might quit” his HBO show Real timehe told Jane Fonda on the latest episode of his Club Random podcast because he’s “shitting his pants” having to talk about the “very hostile” Donald Trump.

“I did all the Trump stuff before anyone else,” Maher said. “I called him a fraud before anyone else.” He’s a mafia boss. I was the one who said he wouldn’t concede the election. I did it. I saw this damn thing play out.

Fonda questioned why Maher would feel the need to cancel his show, since Trump appears to be targeting people like Jimmy Kimmel more than the more moderate host. But Maher disagreed: “He is very hostile towards me. Tweets about me every week. “Every week he accidentally watches my show,” Maher continued, “and then he calls me a ‘low ratings loser’.”

Trump has sharply criticized Maher several times over the years, such as calling him a “lunatic.” on Twitter in 2019 and made the comment that he only watched the show “accidentally” before blasting Maher and then-guest Stephanie Ruhle.

This past SeptemberThe president-elect called the host “confused, sloppy and tired” in a Truth Social post and said Maher was suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Maher said at Club Random that he was “bored” talking about Trump, so Fonda suggested he “find something new.” Maher dismissed this as a possibility.

“The show is the politics. There is nothing else (to talk about) and he will dominate the news like always,” he complained.

It wasn’t the first time Maher dismissed Fonda’s comments during the at-times tense conversation. When Fonda dismissed Maher’s claim that Democrats lost the election by claiming that “a trans woman can get pregnant,” the host went on the attack.

“I’ve never heard of men getting pregnant,” Fonda said. “I have never heard of this argument. It must be a part of what you call the far left that is so tiny.”

Maher accused the icon of being isolated: “No, Jane,” he said, “it’s not tiny. And I’m sorry you can’t throw that back on us. I assume this is because you are tied to the media, who never want anyone in their audience to know anything questionable about the blue team.”

Fonda defended himself by replying, “Well, I read two articles.”
