Bills QB Josh Allen breaks fantasy NFL records with 6 total touchdowns in loss to Rams

Josh Allen did just about everything to give the Buffalo Bills a win on Sunday afternoon.

Although it wasn’t enough to lead them past the Los Angeles Rams, Allen set several NFL records in the process.

Allen accounted for six total touchdowns in the Bills’ wild 44-42 loss to the Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. He threw three touchdown passes and ran for three touchdowns himself in the loss. He is now the first player in NFL history to score three passing and three rushing touchdowns in a single game.

Allen threw 22 of 37 for 342 yards in the Bills’ loss. He had 82 rushing yards on 10 carries and also led the team on the ground. The game was the highest-scoring game of the season in the entire league and marked the first time in NFL history that both teams scored 40 points or more without committing a turnover. The Bills’ 42 points were the most they have ever scored in a loss, which has only happened 21 times in NFL history.

Overall, Allen finished the day with an incredible 51.88 fantasy football points. This is a record for a quarterback in a single game in Yahoo Fantasy history.

Allen scored his sixth and final touchdown of the day on a 1-yard run with just 60 seconds left in the game, bringing the Bills back to within two points. But her onside kick failed, ending their rally from a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter and giving the Rams the two-point victory. It was the Rams’ first win over the Bills since 2012 and their first home win since 1983.

Matthew Stafford also had a great day for the Rams. He went 23 of 30 for 320 yards and threw two touchdowns in the win, moving them to 7-6 on the season and keeping them in the playoff hunt. Wide receiver Puka Nacua posted 162 receiving yards and a touchdown on 12 catches, including a spectacular grab in the first half that could easily be considered Catch of the Year.

While the Bills didn’t come away with the win and are now even further behind the Kansas City Chiefs in the race for the top spot in the AFC, Allen can’t be too upset about his day. If the result is anything close, the Bills should be more than capable of holding out in the playoffs in a month or so.
