Bills QB Josh Allen makes a prediction about Patriots rookie Drake Maye

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen praised New England Patriots rookie signal-caller Drake Maye before Sunday’s Week 16 game.

He predicts Maye will be “really good for a very long time.”

“I think their quarterback is going to be really good for a very long time,” Allen said, via Chris Mason of MassLive. “He makes some incredible plays, both from overtime and from the pocket. I have a lot of respect for him and his game.”

The Patriots didn’t have much to offer this year, but they clearly took a hit at the quarterback position in the 2024 NFL Draft. Maye gave everything the team hoped for from him at center.

Maye and Allen share similar skills, most notably their arm strength and their incredible ability to extend plays with their legs. The UNC product was asked if people had compared him to Allen as early as his second season, and he quickly concluded.

However, Allen’s words carry significant weight when it comes to Maye’s talent. There have been several players and coaches around the league who have praised the No. 3 overall pick in the draft.

However, he could face his biggest test yet in Sunday’s game against the playoff-contending Bills with Allen at quarterback.
