It’s not the first time Allen has tracked the play, but this time Cooper instinctively threw it to his QB, who opened the game with the score.

“I was wondering what he was doing there,” Cooper said. “I thought he was over there because he wanted the ball, so I gave it to him.”

All were credited with a passing touchdown and a receiving score (seven yards receiving), but no reception. It was a play that epitomized Allen’s do-it-all season. He finished 13 of 17 for 148 passing yards, two passing TDs and a rating of 141.3, adding three rushes for 18 yards and the final TD. Given the elements and their impact on other players, the numbers were extremely impressive.

Bills fans showered the quarterback with MVP chants in a game in which he sat out most of the final quarter. Buffalo is the seventh team ever to win its division by more than five weeks, the first since the Indianapolis Colts in 2009. Five of the previous six teams made it to the Super Bowl (the 1985 Bears were the only ones to win ). The win moved the Bills to 10-2, keeping pace with the 11-1 Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC’s top seed.

“It’s a good feeling. “It feels a little different this early in the season,” Allen said of winning the division. “I mean, it will be fun to go out and play freely, play relaxed and play loose. I think they could be a dangerous team.”

It’s a dangerous team because Josh Allen shouldered more of the load and shined.

He is designed to carry this team. He is built to play like an MVP. It is built for the tough weather games. He’s built to make ridiculous plays.
