Birmingham Bowl lightning delay: When will the Vanderbilt-Georgia Tech game resume?

“They are two competitive and strong teams,” said Lea. “Of course it’s starting to get a little difficult, but they’re playing hard. Both sides want to win, so that’s the first thing.

“It’s about focusing. We are about discipline, respect and spirit. We have to finish the game, which means we have to focus on our finishing, on execution and on doing the things we need to do to finish against a really good team.”

Vanderbilt showed an abundance of concentration in the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter, scoring 14 unanswered points and forcing the Yellow Jackets into a fumble.

When the Birmingham Bowl resumes, Vanderbilt will look to put the finishing touches on its masterpiece. If the Commodores get the win, it would be their first bowl victory since 2013.
