Fans braved the cold at the FCS National Championship in Frisco on Monday.

North Dakota State and Montana State played in Frisco in the 15th and possibly final FCS game. The NDSU Bison held off a late comeback from the MSU Bobcats to win their 10thTh FCS championship title.

“It’s so warm outside,” Tucker Roster said jokingly.

Roster is a Fargo fan who, along with friends, decided to take off their jerseys before the game.

“This is Fargo South. We bring our energy with us. We bring everything we have here. We do our best out here so they can do their best there,” Roster said.

Roster made the trip to Frisco all 11 times as the NDSI Bison made it to the national championship.

Like many, Frisco feels like a second home, but for at least the next two years the game will be played in Nashville while Toyota Stadium undergoes renovations.

It is not yet clear where the game will go after that.

“Bring it back. We’ll be back,” one fan told NBC 5.

The friendly football rivalry between the Bison and the Bobcats is a rematch of the 2022 championship won by North Dakota State.

“It’s a vendetta and we’re here to claim it,” said a Montana State fan as he entered the stadium.

From young fans to the young at heart, the focus on Monday wasn’t just fun and games.

Security was an issue, especially after the terrorist attack in New Orleans. But unlike what happened on Bourbon Street, there were properly functioning vehicle barriers to stop a vehicle.
