Bluey’s first film brings the popular character to the big screen

After years of dominating the small screen, Bluish makes the jump to the cinema. The popular cartoon characters The first feature film has been officially announced and is scheduled to hit cinemas worldwide in 2027.

According to BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company, Disney has acquired the theatrical film rights for Bluishwhich led to the development of the franchise’s first feature film. This follows the series earning major accolades on the small screen, including Emmy and BAFTA wins, as well as being ranked as the No. 1 series in streaming. After the film hits theaters in 2027, it will be available to stream on Disney+ as part of the deal. According to the synopsis, the film will “bring the same charm and humor that made the television series a global phenomenon and continue the adventures of Bluey, a lovable, inexhaustible blue heeler dog who lives with her mother and father.” and her little sister Bingo. A logo was also released for this Bluish Film that appears to be simply titled: Bluey: The film.

Bluish Creator Joe Brumm is the film’s writer and director. It will feature voice actors from the TV series reprising their roles, including Melanie Zanetti as Bluey’s mother and father, Chilli and Bandit Heeler. The music is also created by Bluish Composer Joff Bush. It is produced by Ambber Naismith (Happy feet, The Lego Movie, The Lego Batman Movie), while Richard Jeffery (Bluish Season 1-3) will be co-director. Brumm will executive produce alongside Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson of Ludo Studio and Justine Flynn of BBC Studios. David Greenbaum will take over for Disney.
