The game didn’t end the way Broncos fans wanted, but once again Denver can be happy with rookie QB Bo Nix. The first-round pick had another very impressive performance in Denver’s 34-27 loss to the Chargers on Thursday night.

Nix was efficient in the primetime loss, completing 29 of 40 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns. He completed passes for 10 different Broncos. For good measure, Nix also picked up 25 yards on the ground.

Nix entered Week 16 second in the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds, behind Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels. Each rookie signal-caller has led his team to nine wins and the postseason exit.

It’s a close race, at least statistically speaking. Nix has thrown more TDs (22 to 17) but also more INTs (11 to 6) while averaging less than two yards per game apart. Daniels has a significant advantage in completion percentage and also in rushing yards, although Nix’s 352 on the ground was a big part of Denver’s rise up the win list.
