Bo Nix: “I’m ready to go” for Monday’s game against the Cleveland Browns

Bo Nix says he’s ready to play.

With the Denver Broncos, Nix was listed as a limited participant in practice last week due to a back injury. Toward the end of the team’s 29-19 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders last week, Nix was seen receiving back treatment from the athletic training staff. Nix may have tweaked his back, but he didn’t miss a moment in the game.

While the team classified him as “limited” in Thursday’s walk-through session, he appeared to have full range of motion during Friday’s practice. Nix agreed to play on Monday night against the Cleveland Browns.

“I’m ready to go and get going,” Nix told reporters Friday.

Nix has performed well in recent games and the Broncos (7-5) will need to make sure he continues to play well as they seek their first playoff berth since the 2015 season.

Nix threw 16 touchdown passes this season, breaking the franchise rookie record of 14 touchdown passes set by Marlin Briscoe in 1968. He has thrown eight touchdown passes in his last three games and 11 in his last five games. All of his touchdown passes have come in the last nine games and he has 20 touchdowns (16 passes, four runs) and no turnovers in the last 10 games.

The Broncos will be playing in prime time and Nix is looking forward to the opportunity for the team to be in the national spotlight.

“These are great (games) and (they are) the reason you play this sport,” Nix told reporters Friday. “That’s why you play the game and what you dream about for the NFL. Every week you feel like you’re playing against one of the best. It’s just about how good the league is and how outstanding the talent is. We can only worry about ourselves. We just have to focus and execute.”
