Bodycam footage from Kazakh rescuers showed the disturbing scenes at the site of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash near Aktau, Kazakhstan on Wednesday, in which 38 people died.

The Embraer 190 aircraft flying from Baku in Azerbaijan to Grozny in Russia crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan after reportedly diverting due to fog.

The plane carrying 62 passengers and five crew members was forced to make an emergency landing and 29 survivors were rescued by authorities.

The plane was supposed to fly northwest from Baku to Grozny, but instead flew over the Caspian Sea and crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan.

Footage from a body camera installed on one of the rescuers published by Russian media outlet RT captured the aftermath of the plane crash, showing firefighters rushing toward the plane to put out the fire at the scene.

The video showed remnants of the plane and belongings, clothing apparently belonging to those on board the ill-fated plane, scattered on the ground.

According to the Kazakh Ministry of Transport, the plane was carrying 37 nationals from Azerbaijan, six from Kazakhstan, three from Kyrgyzstan and 16 from Russia.

The plane’s heading on the Flight Radar website showed it deviated from its normal route, crossed the Caspian Sea and then circled over the area where it eventually crashed near Aktau.

Among the alleged videos of the crash that have surfaced on social media, one was taken by a passenger aboard the Azerbaijan Airlines flight. It captured the horrific moments before and after the accident and revealed the chaotic scenes inside the plane.

Another video circulating on social media showed a man praying just before the crash, as sounds of panic and the roar of the plane’s engine filled the background.
