Bowl Matchup Tracker: Updated College Football Playoff, complete list of bowl games

After the final College Football Playoffs Top 25 Rankings Reveal, bowl assignment announcement begins. The six New Year’s Day games will be part of the 12-team CFP, and the remaining bowl-eligible teams will fill out the rest of the slate.

The 12 man group came out on Sunday and revealed the first round matchups. In the new format, the four best-placed conference champions receive a bye. Oregon, Georgia, Boise State And Arizona State were each the top four seeds, meaning they won’t begin their CFP runs until the quarterfinals.

These quarterfinal games will be played at the New Year’s Six Bowl locations. The allocations were based on existing conference agreements, CFP executive directors said Rich Clark said previously. Placement in the semi-finals will then be decided solely based on the proximity of the higher seeded team in the quarter-finals – even if that team loses, because plans must be in place. According to the CFP spokesman, the teams have no option to postpone the game Brett Daniels.

Before the College Football Playoff begins, bowl season officially begins on December 14th with the Camellia Bowl. From there, bowl games will continue throughout the new year, with the first CFP games taking place on December 20th.
