Broulim’s cashier, who gets hit by a car, goes to the checkout and gets a big surprise from Secret Santa

A local Secret Santa is donating $1 million to people in need in eastern Idaho this holiday season, and the East Idaho News elves are helping.

From now until the end of the year, we’re releasing a Secret Santa surprise every day, and today we’re surprising a cashier who works at Broulim’s in Ammon.

Susan was constantly having mechanical problems with her 1994 Ford Explorer. She lives only about a half mile from the store, so she sometimes walks to and from work. Occasionally, on really bad days, someone will offer her a ride.

Last March, Susan came home from work, shopped, and left the store with a few bags full of groceries. A few minutes later, as she was walking through the crosswalk, she was hit by a car on Sunnyside Road.

Susan suffered multiple injuries and broken bones. After many months of physical therapy, she was able to go back to work.

Your vehicle still has problems. The heater knob keeps turning and the insides of both front doors needed replacing.

Susan does a great job and always has a smile, but she could really use a reliable vehicle.

Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to visit Susan with an early Christmas present. Check out the video in the player above!
