Bryce Young’s 186 yards gave the Panthers a 13-10 lead at halftime

Eddy Piñeiro entered Sunday’s game as the NFL’s most accurate kicker of all time. A few weeks ago he passed Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.

However, Tucker is the leader again.

Piñeiro missed two field goals and went wide left on attempts of 38 and 45. He had made 33 straight field goals of less than 40 yards.

He made shots of 47 and 27 yards, giving the Panthers a 13-10 halftime lead, but it was meant to be more.

The Panthers nearly scored an 8-yard touchdown with seven seconds left, but officials ruled Adam Thielen bobbled the ball after it went out of bounds. Thielen clearly landed the ball in the field of play, but the play on the field of play was ruled incomplete and review did not show a clear shot as he hit the goal post to show that the ball never moved.

The Panthers settled for Piñeiro’s chip shot, which wasn’t a chip shot at all as he fired it just inside the left post.

Carolina is 1-3 in the red zone and Tampa Bay is 1-2.

The Panthers scored their only touchdown on a 10-yard run by Bryce Young.

They outscored the Bucs 221 to 146 while Young is 15 of 26 for 186 yards. Tommy Tremble has three catches for 63 yards.

The Bucs’ only touchdown came on Mike Evans’ one-handed catch of a 2-yard pass from Baker Mayfield. Mayfield is 7 of 16 for 96 yards and threw an interception, with Evans catching three for 47 and the score.

Panthers safety Sam Franklin was penalized a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness on the final play of the half as the teams entered play after the kickoff before leaving the field at halftime.
