Bucks vs. Hawks preview, start time, TV schedule and injury report

The Bucks, coming off a win against the Detroit Pistons last night, look to move on and face the Atlanta Hawks in Milwaukee. The Bucks are the hottest team in the league, but Atlanta has proven to be a challenge.

Where we are

The Bucks are still winning games and clinched their group in last night’s NBA Cup win over the Pistons. This win extended Milwaukee’s winning streak to seven and they have won nine of their last ten games. As discussed on Deer Diaries: A Milwaukee Bucks PodcastThe play is due to several factors, most notably the play of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, while the supporting cast also had their influence. Ball movement, three-point shooting and strong defense were prevalent during the winning streak.

The Hawks have had ups and downs; They have won four straight, including two double-digit wins last week against the Cavaliers. The Hawks are flying around and playing at a high tempo, led by Trae Young and various athletic wings and guards, including Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels, De’Andre Hunter and rookie Zaccharie Risacher. Atlanta has posted a high assist-to-turnover ratio and assist percentage over the last five games, ranking third and fourth, respectively.

Injury report

Since Milwaukee played last night, they have until 1:00 p.m. to file their injury report. However, Khris Middleton and perhaps MarJon Beauchamp, who was late last night, are expected to miss out. The Hawks likely have Trae Young and Cody Zeller will be out since he is not with the team.

UPDATE: Middleton and Beauchamp are actually out, as is Chris Livingston with a sprained ankle. Giannis is likely while both Tyler Smith and AJ Johnson are in the G League.

Player to keep an eye on

As Khris Middleton inches closer to a return, Taureen Prince will want to continue to push to remain in the starting lineup. After an injury scare, Prince put in a strong performance last night, shooting 4/4 from three and maintaining a high standard. Prince will be in the rotation but wants to retain all of his current minutes.
