Gil Arcia: A “win is a win” game for the Bucs

Sure, it’s a game the Buccaneers should easily dominate on paper. Similar to last week’s game in New York, Tampa Bay could have fallen victim to a trap game, but luckily that didn’t happen. Do they have another dominant performance left in them? It’s possible, but it won’t happen in consecutive weeks. Former Bucs OC head coach and current Panthers head coach Dave Canales remembers the buttons he had to push against Todd Bowles’ defense during practice and will look to do the same on Sunday to keep Tampa Bay in the loop to hold her toes. However, a late-game touchdown from quarterback Baker Mayfield to Mike Evans will break the tie and allow the Bucs to get out of Charlotte with a win.

Mike Kiwak: The Bucs defense is actually doing something

Yes, the Bucs held a shutout against the Giants for three quarters last week, but the Giants might also have the worst offense in football, and that was before they brought in one of the worst quarterbacks in football in Tommy DeVito. The Panthers are improving significantly under former Buc Dave Canales, and Bryce Young actually looks competent, so this may be a bigger test than some realize. Tampa’s defense really needs to show improvement over some NFL quality schemes and production. I’m going to be cautiously optimistic and say they do it, sacking Bryce Young three times and grabbing a late-game interception to seal the deal.

Will Walsh: Tampa’s backs torment the Panthers’ defense

The Buccaneers are primed for a run at the end of the season and the second game of that run is this Sunday. The Bucs will win big – with their ground game as a catalyst. The team’s rushing attack will put up nearly 30 points on the scoreboard and over 150 yards on the stat sheet.
