With his 19th Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Amari Cooper’s catches just passed the 10,000 mark.

Cooper became just the 57th player in NFL history to record 10,000 yards receiving and is just one of eight active players to accomplish the feat. DeAndre Hopkins tops the list with nearly 13,000 yards, while Mike Evans and Travis Kelce each have over 12,000 yards. Davante Adams, Keenan Allen, Tyreek Hill and Stefon Diggs round out the avtive player10k club. Not a bad list for Cooper to be on now.

Just two plays later, Cooper added another 30 yards when he caught a touchdown pass from Allen to give the Bills a 19-0 lead over the New York Jets.

While Cooper only has 297 From those yards in a Buffalo Bills uniform, it seems only fitting that the 10-year veteran from Alabama catches his milestone pass from Allen. Cooper began his career with the Las Vegas Raiders, where he caught passes for 3,183 yards, but midway through the 2018 season, the wide receiver was traded to the Dallas Cowboys, where he caught another 3,893 yards over the next three and a half seasons. After the 2021 season, after his production dropped from 1,114 yards to 865, the Cowboys sent Cooper to the Cleveland Browns. In Cleveland, the well-traveled receiver caught passes for an additional 2,410 yards (1,250 in 2022 and 1,160 in 2023).

With just two seasons under 1,000 receiving yards (2017 and 2021), Cooper would have hoped to make an impact in his third season in Cleveland, catching passes from Deshaun Watson. But it wasn’t meant to be. Through the first six games of the 2024 season, Cooper only managed to gain 250 yards, a pace that would have him rushing for just 708 yards over the course of 17 games.

Then the league trade season came and Amari Cooper found herself on her way to Buffalo. After just two games and 69 yards as a Bill, Cooper suffered a wrist injury that caused him to miss two games with a cast. Cooper returned in Week 11 and rushed for 55.12 and 95 yards in his next three games. Then in Week 15, the Bills scored 48 points and 559 total offensive yards against the Detroit Lions, and Amari Cooper had done just that zero these farms.

But Cooper didn’t mind. In fact, he has gone on record saying that this was the most fun he has ever had playing football. He understands that he is a veteran, that defenses will be keeping an eye on him, and that in that regard he can divert attention from younger players and allow them to develop their own NFL stories. And he said the only thing that matters is that the Buffalo Bills win.

So yeah, it’s only fitting that the guy who played all over the league but loves his time in Buffalo gets his 10,000th career pitch in Orchard Park, NY.
