There’s little doubt that Josh Allen watched Lamar Jackson light up the Houston Texans on Christmas. It feels like Jackson has been named national MVP. Allen may not publicly let on that he’s aware of it or that it even matters to him, but the Bills certainly are. His teammates want him to be MVP. Allen might not say this, but why wouldn’t he want it for himself? With a win on Sunday, Week 18 is meaningless as the Bills would remain at No. 2. Allen would likely start this game and give up the ball to maintain his consecutive start streak, but then should be eliminated from the game. So this is the last chance to make a case for MVP. He’ll look to do that against a Jets defense that has given him problems in the past. However, the current Jets roster is counting down the days until the end of the season, and that remains to be seen. Bills, 31-17.

Coming into this season, I simply didn’t trust the New York Jets. Their demise comes as no surprise to me. I know division games can get strange, and the Jets played the Bills close earlier this season, but I expect the Bills to step on some people’s necks this Sunday. Quarterback Josh Allen had some issues against the Jets, but he’s hoping he stays in control and continues his MVP campaign en route to victory. The Buffalo defense is using Sunday as a preseason game. The Jets might score late, but it doesn’t matter. The Bills finish the regular season undefeated at home. Bills, 30-20.

I believe that earlier this week, after his team opened the game against New England in a sort of trance, Bills coach Sean McDermott saw paint peeling off the walls of the team’s facility before he woke up just in time. The Bills should consider this a lesson learned – with McDermott’s emphasis – for Sunday’s game. But remember, no team has intercepted (11) or sacked (27) Josh Allen more times than the Jets. You always have a good plan. I expect Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady to prioritize the run game earlier than last week, and that will put Allen in better down-and-distance play-action situations. The Bills secure second place in the AFC. Bills, 24-20.

Rasul Douglas and Matt Milano return to the Bills' lineup; four more questionable

Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano (biceps/groin) and cornerback Rasul Douglas (knee) have no injury reports and will be available to play Sunday.

Let’s not forget that the Jets beat the Bills 393-359 in October and Buffalo needed a field goal in the final four minutes to escape with a 23-20 victory. Granted, the Jets had a “lucky” Hail Mary touchdown at the end of the first half. Still, it was a tough game. The Patriots reminded us last week that division games are tough. Aaron Rodgers is still highly motivated to show he can be effective, with little sign that he is keen to retire after this season. It is uncertain whether anyone will offer him a job for 2025. The Jets defense has been great the last two years. His decline is part of the major disappointment of the Jets’ season. The Bills should be able to get a running game going and stay balanced. It helps that the Jets also have some serious injuries. Expect a largely comfortable win for Buffalo. Bills, 28-19.
