Cade Cunningham leads the Pistons to a road win over the Knicks with second-half heroics

Detroit — Coach JB Bickerstaff has been preaching ball movement and team effort since taking over the franchise as coach of the Detroit Pistons in July. But when it comes to Cade Cunningham, Bickerstaff recently revealed that his starting point guard will always have the “green light.”

“There’s no bright green enough that Cade doesn’t have,” Bickerstaff said. “Whatever picture Cade wants to make, wherever he wants to make it, he has the freedom. The neon green. What goes beyond that? Ninja Turtle Green? Whatever you want, he has that light.”

Bickerstaff doesn’t care what shot Cunningham takes because he has compassion for his teammates and a desire to include them. But on Monday night at Madison Square Garden, Cunningham made good use of Bickerstaff’s leeway.
