Wildfires are raging across thousands of acres in Los Angeles County, California, as strong winds from Santa Ana fuel the flames.

The Palisades Fire has affected more than 19,000 acres and the Eaton Fire has affected 13,00 acres.

The Hurst Fire went from over 800 acres to less than 700 acres on Thursday.

The Eaton Fire is at 0% containment and the Palisades Fire was reported at 6% containment as of Thursday evening. The Hurst fire is now 10% contained.

The Woodley and Sunset fires were 100% contained as of Thursday.

At the same time, the Lidia fires quickly grew from 80 acres to over 300 acres late Wednesday. According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, containment was at 60% as of Thursday.

Evacuation warnings

CalFire evacuation orders have been issued for the areas surrounding the Palisades, Eaton and Hurst fires.

Evacuation orders for the Pacific Palisades, Topanga and eastern Malibu areas extend to Carbon Beach Terrace on the west side of the fire. To the east and southeast, evacuation orders cover the Riviera, Rustic Canyon and Wilshire Montana regions and extend to San Vincente Boulevard.

The Eaton Fire evacuation order covered Altadena, La Cañada Flintridge and much of Pasadena and Glendale.

The order to evacuate the Hollywood Hills surrounding the Sunset Fire came late Wednesday and affects some iconic Hollywood locations, including the Dolby Theater, home of the Oscars, and the Hollywood Bowl. However, residents were told they could return by Thursday.

The Hurst Fire evacuation order included the suburban Los Angeles neighborhoods of Sylmar, Whitney Canyon Park and Elsmere Canyon.

For the latest on the Kenneth Fire — which broke out Thursday and quickly reached nearly 1,000 acres without containment — residents can search for evacuation zones on CalFire’s interactive, updated map here.
