Actress and model Cara Delevingne plays Sir Elton John in a new video for his song Step Into Christmas.

In the video, a reimagining of the behind-the-scenes video released more than 50 years ago, Delevingne, 32, wears a suit and glasses that look exactly like the singer-songwriter did in the original.

When first released in November 1973, Step Into Christmas reached number 24 in the UK Top 40 and topped the Billboard Christmas singles chart.

Delevingne, a close friend of John, said: “Elton has always been an idol of mine. To say his music had a profound effect on me is an understatement. To be asked by him play Seeing him in this recovery was a dream I didn’t know I had until it happened. Honestly, I wish I could pretend to be Elton every day.

“I hope that one day Elton will return the favor and agree to play me in my not yet developed, written, pitched or financed biopic. We keep our fingers crossed.”

“When someone suggested the idea of me starring in a riff from the 1973 Step Into Christmas video, I just thought it was the perfect opportunity. Thank God Cara thought the same thing because it turned out great.”
